I simply cannot contain my giddiness. I always feel like this when I discover something very special and I wanted to text and call all my friends to share with them the good news. Buti na lang.... I now have my blog -- my own little space in cyber world where I can share my discoveries.
I just discovered, this small eatery in Makati, that serves very good Italian food, at a price you won't actually believe! It is super affordable. I literally did the "dance of joy" when I learned how much is the total bill :)
Let me start this food trip story with the not-so-good-thing about the diner. It has no parking space. We parked on the side street, in front of a sari sari store. The small road going to the diner was crammed with tricycles.
Now that I have gotten that out of the way... and if you are like me who doesn't mind small inconveniences... then this is the most interesting part of my story. The excellent food this diner is serving, the big servings, and the budget friendly prices! It is definitely worth the trip!
AYAN's ITALIAN DINER opened in Pembo Makati in 2014.
Its owner, Ryan Julio aka "Ayan" started with just four dining tables that will fit around 10 customers. But because of his strong passion in creating new flavors, mixing sauces, and regularly updating his menu --- he now has expanded the diner to accommodate 200 customers. Most of these customers are workers in the BGC area, who kept coming back to Ayan's for Italian food.
When I was at the diner, the place was never empty. Couples and barkadas come and go, all of them satisfied with what they've ordered.
Ryan also recently opened his second branch in Baler -- ELJ's Bistro by Ayan's Italian Diner. And soon.... a NEW branch to watch out for at the Food Deastrict in Cainta Rizal, where Ryan said, parking will not be a problem anymore. Ayan's blended drinks, milkshakes and desserts will be offered via a new concept store -- PRIMIERA, soon also in the Food Deastrict. The food must really be that DELISH, you might think, for such expansion came in just after 2 years!
And now.... it's time for the star of this this article.... the AWESOME Italian food me and my "backpack squad" were lucky to feast on!
The Ribs and Buffalo Wings can be ordered separately or combo! The wings taste sweet, until it becomes a tad spicy a few seconds after. I liked the smoky flavor of the ribs.
There are several pizza flavors to choose from. But I tell you, the 2 variants that we sampled taste delicious. The dough soft to the bite. My super favorite is the Garden Pizza, oozing with mozzarella and topped with my favorite arugula and alfalfa.
There are also several pasta dishes to choose from. But what is most interesting, if you cannot decide whether you want the red or the white sauce, choose the seafood special, which has a combination of red and white sauce. Clever right?
For desserts and drinks.....
The total: Php 1,818. Unbelievable. The food served can easily satisfy 5-8 people. That is definitely budget friendly.
Ayan's Italian Diner will also offer loyalty card to frequent customers to reward them and students will get 20% discount.
HOW TO GET TO AYAN's: From Market Market, you have to cross C5 and ride the tricycle. Or you can opt to walk, its just about a 5-minute walk to Ayan's.
