MAC enters the OFFICE

Last June 28, I braved the Makati traffic to attend this exciting event that I know would benefit me as a mommy blogger.  I have been using Microsoft Word and Powerpoint as a TV writer, on my PC.  But this event will teach us, finally, how to use the Microsoft Office 365 -- for Mac!

Before going to the event, for curiosity's sake, I searched the internet, of course on my Mac :) for websites that would explain to me the difference, if there is any, between a PC user and a Mac enthusiast.  Are they different, really, in terms of personality.

So I guess... Mac users,  are undoubtedly, creative!  My peers from the TV-Events field, I know will very much agree  :)

First task of the day, our friends from Microsoft Philippines, installed FREE Microsoft Office 365 to the macbooks of the mommy bloggers present in the event.  It took just a couple of minutes to install.

After the installation, we eagerly listened to the Office 365 demo, on how it can be used effectively both by the busy moms and by the students, who are constantly in search of effective ways to do their reports and school projects.  

I have been using Microsoft Word for years.  I know about Powerpoint and Excel.  But this is the first time, admittedly, that I have heard about OneNote.  It is your very own DIGITAL notebook, where you can capture your ideas and to-do lists in one place wherever you are. 

Mommies, Imagine this....  you can make your monthly grocery list on OneNote. And you can share it with hubby.  If for example you miss out on one item... you can send the list to hubby for him to purchase it.  You simply share the grocery list with each other, with or without internet. This is very helpful if you are like me, who likes writing random ideas or things to do or buy, on napkins. Or leaving the kids at home messages written on scratch papers when I have work.  This time, I can just send my kids messages on their phones, tablets and computers using OneNote.

Or.... if you are organizing a grand family reunion.  And you want to match your schedule with other members of the family, both here and abroad,  OneNote can help you with that, because you can collaborate in real time with anyone anywhere with the app.  

For the students... they can have their own digital notebook, where they can just jot down all their brilliant ideas. But if their professors are fast talkers, they can just press audio record, and they won't miss anything from the lesson.  And, there's a new exciting addition to PowerPoint 2016, a new transition type MORPH, that can help you make smooth animations, transitions, and object movements across the slides in your presentation.
